Innocent victim shot

02/25/2013

A South Los Angeles man was shot in the upper torso this afternoon as he stood in the driveway of his home located near 103 Street and Denker Avenue. Although the shooting appeared to be gang related, deputies do not believe the man was the intended target. The victim was struck by stray gunfire from a passing vehicle and was "simply in the wrong place at the wrong time' said Lieutenant Jeff Adams.

The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics then transported to a local hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.

Deputies are searching for at least two suspects who were driving a black compact vehicle.
