Overnight kidnapping ends with the arrest of West Athens man

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, South Los Angeles Station deputies were dispatched to a home in the 1200 block of west 89th Street in unincorporated West Athens to investigate the report of a possible kidnapping.

Upon their arrival, deputies learned that an 18 year old female had been forcefully kidnapped from her home by Emmanuel Caballeros, 19, whom was described as the father of the kidnapped woman's child. An intense manhunt for Suspect Caballeros and the female victim was immediately initiated.

Around 2:00 a.m. this morning, South Los Angeles Station detectives located Suspect Caballeros and the female victim near Century Boulevard and Hoover Street. Suspect Caballeros was taken into custody without incident, and the victim was freed unharmed.

Suspect Caballeros was booked at South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station for kidnapping. His bail was set at $100,000.00.

Although the investigation is on-going, it is believed this incident was possibly the result of a child custody dispute.
