Commercial Painting: Includes instruction in brushes, rollers, spray equipment, abrasive blasting, rigging/scaffolding as well as the concepts and application techniques of murals.
Often times inmates who enter this program have little to no experience with any form or type of painting. They take on a student's role as various techniques and skills are taught by professional instructors who are eager to convey their skills and expertise to those who desire to learn.
Many murals have been placed around the North County Correctional Facility, serving to provide colorful illustrations to the institutional setting while giving students the opportunity to participate in practical application exercises of techniques learned.
