Student Arrested for Exhibiting an Imitation Firearm at School

At 10:05 this morning a staff member at Antelope Valley High School, 44900 Division Street, Lancaster, advised authorities that there was a 10th grade student on campus who brandished what appeared to be a firearm during class.



An investigation was conducted by the Lancaster Sheriff Station school deputy which lead to the student being located and detained at his residence. The student admitted to having a replica firearm which he discarded in a trash can on the school campus.



The school was locked down for the safety of the students and community for approximately one hour during the investigation.

Deputy personnel recovered the replica firearm and cited the student who was charged with Drawing or Exhibiting an Imitation Firearm in a Threatening Manner.
