Posse Captain Juanna Lamb is honored as Posse Member of the Year 2013



Lomita Station Posse Captain Juanna Lamb was honored Wednesday November 13, 2013 as Posse Member of the Year at the Sheriff Department's Annual Reserve Recognition Dinner.



Captain Juanna Lamb is an indispensable part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Posse. She has accomplished so much in the past year it seems impossible one person could have taken on all she has, and do it so well.



Juanna heads up the Mounted Search and Rescue unit (MSAR) associated with LASD, and organizes training in that capacity as well. She's taken a lead role in many mounted searches and equine fire evacuations.



In addition to her normal leadership roles, Juanna put together the class agenda and organized several high level trainers to teach the spring Posse 40 Hour Course. Many participants commented that it was one of the best-organized and smoothest running, 40 Hour classes they had attended.



In fact, when Juanna is called on to contribute time and effort; she consistently responds enthusiastically, and asks, "What can I do? What can my team do? And what can the Posse do as a whole?" From organizing a static display at Headquarters for the Take Your Kids to Work day, to mounted patrol, to participating in numerous community events, to evacuating horses in distress during emergencies, Captain Lamb is there and is a deserving recipient of the Posse Member of the Year award.
