The U.S. Geological Survey is warning residents about a letter circulating on the Internet dated March 31, 2014, claiming that a large earthquake was imminent in Southern California. The letter surfaced following a recent series of earthquakes in Southern California including a magnitude 5.1 quake centered in La Habra on Friday, March 28.
The letter is a hoax and should be disregarded.
