You can now file Limited Incident Reports Online
On December 2, 2014, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department instituted the Sheriff's Online Reporting and Tracking System (S.O.R.T.S.). The purpose of this system is to provide the public with a convenient way to submit limited property-related reports online via computers and smart phones, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
To access S.O.R.T.S. go to www.lasd.org and click on the "File a Report Online" icon for more information.
Limited property-related reports include:
Lost or stolen cell phones valued $950 or less
Lost or stolen property valued $950 or less
Vandalism, excluding graffiti, where damage is valued under $400
Theft from an unlocked vehicle valued $950 or less
Theft from an open or unsecured area valued $950 or less
Supplemental Loss Form (Must already have a LASD report number)
To use this online reporting system, the incident must have occurred in the areas covered by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. In addition to the cities and county areas we patrol, our jurisdiction includes "Metro" buses, trains, or platforms as well as County Parks, County buildings, and certain Community Colleges.
S.O.R.T.S. is not intended to replace our current tradition of service to the public, but to enhance it by providing an additional option.
S.O.R.T.S. is not intended to be used to report emergencies or provide crime related tips.
IF YOU ARE REPORTING AN EMERGENCY OR A CRIME IS IN PROGRESS, CALL 9-1-1
