Lomita Station Deputies Pay it Forward Through Random Acts of Kindness

Lomita Sheriff's Station has partnered with The Utopian Society Project, a local community based organization whose mission is to, "Change the world one random act of kindness at a time."

Gabriela Fischer, founder of The Utopian Society Project, has collected donations from local businesses and individuals to obtain gift cards valued at $20.00 - $30.00 from movie theaters, retail outlets, and restaurants. These gift cards are being passed out by Lomita Sheriff's Station deputies to members of the community. The deputies are randomly issuing the cards during traffic stops, calls for service, or through routine encounters with the public. Our deputies often encounter people who are having a very bad day. We want to turn some of these encounters into positive contacts through small acts of kindness. We hope these gestures will have a positive domino effect throughout the community.
