Good police work can manifest itself in several different ways. One example of which is doing additional patrols in areas where crime has previously been detected. That is exactly what happened on Tuesday evening, August 8, at a Rowland Heights hotel. As a deputy was patrolling the back parking lot when he saw what he considered to be a suspicious vehicle parked in the rear with a female seated in the driver's seat. While questioning the occupant, another deputy arrived as back-up and stood on the opposite side near the passenger door and noticed a rock like substance resembling methamphetamine on the floor board. The occupant was arrested and in addition to the rock, a search of the vehicle yielded a loaded .45 caliber hand gun, a credit card embosser, several credit cards with other people's names, needles used for injecting methamphetamine as well as a pipe for smoking it.
