Transformer Fire in Walnut

08/12/2017

On Thursday, July 28th, around 7:30pm, a small one acre fire broke out near the 21800 block of Buckskin Dr, in the city of Walnut. The fire was believed to be caused by a nearby transformer explosion. The transformer knocked out the power to Mt. San Antonio college until approximately 1am on Friday. Several cows, which are penned nearby, also had to be evacuated. Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from the Walnut/Diamond Bar Station assisted in the evacuation of the livestock, while Los Angeles County Fire Department extinguished the fire.
