In the early morning hours of Thursday August 10th, a 911 call comes to the Walnut/Diamond Bar station. The caller franticly tells the dispatcher that she and her three sisters have locked themselves in an upstairs bedroom because they can hear noise coming from the downstairs living room. She tells the dispatcher she believes someone is moving furniture and other items downstairs. The dispatcher puts out a "possible burglary in progress" call and deputies quickly respond to the location. They search the outside of the house and find no signs of entry into the house and all the doors and windows were still secure. They asked the homeowner to come downstairs to unlock a door so they can check the inside of the house when they hear a loud scream from inside. Believing that the homeowner may be in trouble deputies prepare to force entry into the house when they hear the homeowner yell, "It's an owl, it's an owl." Once inside, the deputies were able to throw a blanket over the bird, capture it, and then released him outside.
