On August 24, 2017 at 8:18am, deputies patrolling in the area of Fairway Drive and the 60 Freeway saw a vehicle impeding traffic and conducted a traffic stop. Upon contacting the driver, a male Hispanic, they noticed he had a handgun holstered on his hip. The driver claimed to be a security guard and handed the deputies an ID. When the deputies questioned the driver about the ID they discovered he had handed them his brother's ID and he is not licensed to carry firearms. The driver was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm and a search of the vehicle yielded two loaded handguns, one shotgun, an expandable baton, pepper-spray, four magazines and a security guard badge. The 25 year old suspect, Alejandro Raygoza, is a resident of the City of La Verne.
