Palmdale S.R.D. Program and Keep in Touch Program



The Palmdale Sheriff's Station has implemented two new programs for residents in our community. The "Special Response Database" and the "Keep in Touch" program.



The "Special Response Database" was designed to bring awareness to local law enforcement about the special needs of residents in our community. Prime candidates for this program would include adults and children with such conditions as autism spectrum disorders, dementia, Alzheimer's, or any mental illness or physical impairment which may require a special response by Sheriff's field personnel. The program offers improved communication and care during encounters with those who have special needs.

Information is supplied to the Palmdale Sheriff's Station by those with special needs or by their guardians. This information allows the deputies to better formulate a response to any calls for service or other contact involving the participant. The information also aids in locating the participant's family members or other designated contacts should the need arise.





The "Keep in Touch" program is designed for our local seniors. Many of our seniors are, unfortunately, not in regular contact with family or other loved-ones. They can sometimes feel alone and neglected. Our program provides a friendly voice to keep seniors in contact with the outside world. For those elders wishing to sign up for our program, a representative from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will call on a weekly basis to make sure all is well.
