The caller said there had been shooting in the home and a woman had been hit by gunfire. The armed suspect was believed to be still inside the home. The deputies rapidly formulated a plan to rescue the gunshot victim. They approached the home and located the woman bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. The deputies carried her more than 50 yards to where Los Angeles County Firefighters had staged to provide emergency medical care.
