AMUAmerican Military University
AMU awards credit at no cost for POST-certified public safety academies, military training, previous college coursework, select in-service training programs, and professional certifications. LASD employees and their family members receive a tuition grant and technology fee waiver for every course. Undergraduate students earning academic credit will receive textbooks and ebooks at no charge.

University of Massachusetts Global knows that as a working adult, managing your budget is important. The financial aid team can help you access funding options to reduce your cost while increasing your earning potential! UMass Global offers 10% to 20% scholarships that LASD employees, their spouses and dependents are eligible to receive.
ULVUniversity of La Verne
University of La Verne offers accelerated degree programs designed for working professionals. Five 8-week terms per year. ULV is taking applications for new on-site cohort groups, which require minimum of 16 students to start. LA County employees may attend all open cohorts in LA County area. AA is not required to start and GMAT usually is not required.
MCMarist College
Marist’s MPA degree program meets the needs of the busy law enforcement professional by combining accelerated scheduling and a reduced pricing structure with the flexibility and convenience of Marist’s online course delivery system. All MPA courses are eight weeks in length and offered Spring, Summer, and Fall. The entire graduate degree program can be completed in just over two years.
NUNational University
National University is proud to support LASD by offering personnel, sworn or non-sworn, a 25% tuition scholarship for over 75 flexible degree programs. You can earn an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree, or certification in fields such as criminal justice, homeland security, and public administration. Plus, your spouse and dependents save 25% on tuition as well.
UIUUnion Institute & University
Union knows your field work has taught you things that can’t be learned in a classroom. That’s why their credit transfer policy recognizes your previous training and experience. Transfer up to 32 semester credits from your Basic POST Certificate and up to 34 credits for your FDLE Academy Training. You can also transfer additional training beyond the academy using Union’s certified learning method (with a maximum of 60 credit hours for training).
