A woman in her mid 30's was seen hanging on the Azusa Bridge overpass on Friday, November 22, 2013. Industry Sheriff's Station received the call at 10:10 AM and dispatched deputies to Azusa Avenue and Valley Boulevard, City of Industry.
When deputies arrived they saw a female suspended outside the rails of the overpass. She was partially standing on the pavement and holding onto the rails, as if she was in the process of jumping off.
Deputies Lorenzo Bright and Ruben Valencia quickly and cautiously approached the female, from opposite sides, and simultaneously grabbed both of her arms, preventing her from jumping. They pulled the female over the rail to safety on Azusa Avenue.
The rescued woman, a local transient who has had numerous contacts with Industry Sheriff's Station deputies, was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department and transported to a local hospital, in West Covina, where she was admitted for a 72 hour mental observation.
