On Friday, December 13, 2013 Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas hosted a tree lighting ceremony and toy give-away to commence the holidays. The ceremony took place at the new Martin Luther King Jr. Outpatient Clinic, slated to open to the public in early spring 2014.
The ceremony was for local residents served by the current Martin Luther King Jr. Ambulatory Care Center. The turnout was in the several hundred under perfect Southern California weather.
