A Carson man has been charged with drug and firearms related charges after being arrested late Tuesday afternoon in Carson.
While on routine patrol, Carson Station deputies stopped 20- year-old Ruben Lozano in 2600 block of Washington Street after seeing him commit a vehicle code violation while riding a bicycle.
Upon being contacted, Lozano told the deputies he was in possession of illegal narcotics as well as a firearm. The deputies searched Lozano and found what appeared to be methamphetamine on his person as well as a sawed-off shotgun in a billiards equipment bag he was carrying. The deputies were unable to determine exactly why Lozano was carrying the shotgun, but it did not appear that he had been involved in any other crime.
Lozano was booked at Carson Station. His bail was set at $10,000.00.
