Found Receipt Leads to Arrest of Robbery Suspect

On January 4, 2014, a person was attacked by a man with a golf club at the Whittier Narrows Golf Course, (8640 East Rush Street, Rosemead) and robbed of his cellular phone. The victim, who was struck with the golf club and forced to the ground, said that he recognized the suspect who had fled on foot from the area. The victim reported he played golf with the suspect once before and knew him as, "Miguel."

Parks Bureau deputies handling the investigation found the suspect's golf bag and located a receipt with the suspect's name, Miguel Fajardo, inside. Parks Bureau detectives took this information and obtained a picture of the suspect and placed it in a photographic line-up. The victim positively identified Miguel Fajardo, male Hispanic, 49 years of age and resident of Los Angeles, as the suspect.

On January 16, 2014, Parks Bureau detectives contacted the Miguel Fajardo at his residence and arrested him for robbery without incident. Mr. Fajardo was booked at Temple Sheriff Station and is being held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Parks Bureau is dedicated to providing a safe and drug free environment at all Los Angeles County Parks.
