Parks Bureau & Parks and Recreation Host 4th Annual Basketball Challenge on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at George Lane Park, 5520 W. Avenue L-8, Quartz Hill, 93536.
"Parks Basketball Challenge" is a skills competition for children 7-14 years of age, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle and spending time playing in the Los Angeles County Parks. This event also promotes positive interaction with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Personnel who are responsible for security of all Los Angeles County parks. Medals will be awarded for first through third place finishers in each age group. The event is free with t-shirts given to the first 200 competitors along with several raffle prizes, food and drinks, and a basketball clinic for all of the participants.
This event could not have been made possible without the help of the Honorable Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and many local businesses in the community.
