Carson Deputy Fred Noya Receives Attorney General's Award

Deputy Fredrick Noya was recently recognized by the Attorney General's Award Program for his outstanding and ongoing efforts with the Gang Diversion Team. Since Deputy Noya started the program in 2006, the Gang Diversion Team has managed to change the lives of numerous youths within the city of Carson. Through mentorship, tutoring, and after-school programs, the team has changed the outlook of at-risk youth and steered them away from the wrong path in life. His efforts have made big changes and will continue to do so for quite a while.



Due to the program, Deputy Noya received the Police Officer Certificate of Commendation for Outstanding Performance. The award is given due to consistently having exemplary work performance far above and beyond what is expected. The uniqueness and success of this project is what earned him this award.



"The purpose of the ongoing Attorney General's Awards Program is to extend official

recognition to citizens and peace officers who perform heroic acts or meritorious service in

support of law enforcement or crime prevention. It is intended to provide public awareness of

the positive efforts and actions of local and state law enforcement officers and citizens as they

endeavor to protect and serve the community."
