LASD Parks Bureau Deputies arrest man for assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Deputy
On February 19, 2015, an Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Deputy and a Deputy involved shooting occurred at Lario Park, 15701 Foothill Boulevard, Azusa, CA 91702. The suspect fled the scene and was unidentified. During a subsequent investigation by Deputies Max Fernandez and Annie Walters the suspect was identified as James Babakitis a male white, 49 year old resident of Phelen California.
On April 29, 2015, after further investigation suspect Babakitis was discovered at a location in Glendora and place under arrest for an Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer. Babakitis was transported to the San Dimas Sheriff's Station where he is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bail.
