Drive-by shooter arrested in the unincorporated area of Whittier. Norwalk Detectives are looking for witnesses or potential victims



On Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 12:50 a.m., Norwalk Station Patrol Deputies arrested Carlos Hernandez MH/18, of Whittier and Roman Rosales MH/19 of Long Beach for assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle at a pedestrian, and evading a peace officer. Both suspects were booked at Norwalk Station and bail was set for each individual at $250,000.



Norwalk deputies were on patrol in the area of Carmenita Road and Trumball Street, when they saw a car occupied by two males. The occupants of the vehicle shot at a group of three people standing at the bus stop on Carmenita Road, south of Trumball Street. The suspects fled in their vehicle and attempted to evade the deputies, but were arrested after a short vehicle pursuit. A loaded pistol was recovered by the deputies after the arrest. No reports of anyone being hit by the gunfire were received.
