HOOK OF THE MONTH - JANUARY

January 12th, 2012

Deputies Martinez and Moya attempted to contact three males, regarding a curfew violation. Two of the males complied with their orders and were detained without incident. The third male refused to comply with their orders and continued to walk away. As the male began to flee, he reached into his shirt pocket, removed a semi-automatic handgun and concealed it behind his leg. As the deputies gave him orders to drop the gun, he suddenly threw it over an adjacent fence where it landed on the roof of a building. Deputies Moya and Martinez detained the suspect, (a "neighborhood crip" gang member), and arrested him for numerous felony weapons related charges. Deputies Martinez and Moya are to be commended for a job well done.

Congratulations to the above deputies. Their self-initiated activity and outstanding work are excellent examples of South Los Angeles Stations tradition.
