At approximately 6:15 this morning, a house fire occurred in the 13500 block of Cerise Avenue in the unincorporated area of Hawthorne. An elderly man was found dead inside of the location and an elderly female was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. It is believed the man and woman were brother and sister.
Although there were no indications of foul play, Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide investigators, in conjunction with sheriff's arson investigators are investigating the cause of fire.
