At approximately 10:45 a.m this morning, South Los Angeles Station deputies attempted to stop Santa Monica resident Stephen Meller, M/48, who was wanted for fleeing from Culver City police officers during a traffic stop earlier in the morning in Culver City.
Similar to what he was alleged to have done in Culver City, Suspect Meller failed to yield to the deputies and led them on a brief vehicle pursuit over several surface streets, as well as portions of the 405 freeway.
The pursuit terminated when Suspect Meller finally pulled over in the 4500 block of 142nd Street in the City of Hawthorne and surrendered without further incident.
Suspect Meller was transported to South Los Angeles Station where he was booked for felony evading as well as driving under the influence of drugs. His bail was set at $75,000.
