Fallen Tree Knocks Out Power in Unincorporated Monrovia

On 05-11-13 at approximately 5:40am, Temple Sheriffs Deputies responded to the 2200 block of California Ave, Unincorporated Monrovia. Citizens reported a large tree that fell and knocked down high voltage power wires. Southern California Edison was notified immediately and responded within 20 minutes to begin repairs. North and Southbound lanes of California Ave (between Altern Street and Maydee Street) were closed to vehicle traffic while Edison repair crews worked to restore power. The entire block of California Avenue was without power for approximately 2 hours. One house sustained minor damage from the fallen tree.
