April 1, 2013
In April of 2013, the East Los Angeles Station YAL Center was fortunate enough to receive sponsorship from National PAL to send four students to Richmond, Virginia for a Youth Leadership Conference. Deputy Arturo Lozano chaperoned our students for this event. Between the scheduled conferences, Deputy Lozano was able to entertain the students by taking them to several historical landmarks. The students visited the State Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, and Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. They learned a lot about our founding fathers of the United States of America and the bravery of the soldiers who fought for this country in World War II. Thanks to National PAL, Deputy Arturo Lozano, and Connie Cervantes, the students from the ELA YAL had a memorable experience.
