June 9, 2013
On Sunday, June 9th, members of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles Police Department, California Highway Patrol, San Francisco Police Department, LA Airport Police and many other law enforcement agencies participated in the LA Pride parade.
LA County Sheriff Lee Baca and LAPD Assistant Chief Sandy Jo MacArthur led over one hundred law enforcement officers, volunteers and their partners in this annual event.
June is recognized worldwide by the LGBT community as Pride Month, commemorated on the anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion in New York City on June 28, 1969, which most historians consider to be the birth of the modern LGBT civil rights movement.
