As a part of the Education Based Incarceration Bureau, the Jail Enterprises Unit (JEU) works with the inmate vocational training programs to provide appropriate occupational and workplace skills to inmates, create departmental cost savings, and create new revenue streams to support the job training programs.
JEU is located at Pitchess Detention Center (PDC) in Castaic. JEU facilitates customer-driven work orders through the Print Shop and Sign Shop at North County Correctional Facility. At PDC South Facility, JEU sells products and services at the Bicycle Shop, Pet Grooming Shop, Wood Shop, Welding Shop, Print-N-Stitch Shop, and Nursery. JEU also runs the Plastic Bag Operation at PDC East Facility.
