On August 10, 2013, 125 VIDA participants assembled at Belvedere Middle School in East Los Angeles to attend the official graduation ceremony from VIDA Academy, Class # 25. Graduates ranged in age from 12 - 17, came from diverse backgrounds all over Los Angeles County, and have spent the past 16 weeks working diligently on setting a crime free path toward responsible adulthood. In addition to the recognition given to the participants and their families for their personal accomplishments, the Sheriff's Department presented Finella White with a special honor for her years of dedicated special education work with the VIDA program.
