Female Arrested for Threatening to Kill Neighbor

On September 25, 2013, deputies from the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station received a call regarding two neighbors arguing in the 15500 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, El Camino Village. When the deputies arrived they learned that during an argument over drugs, Latonja Bobo, 49 year old resident of El Camino Village threatened to kill the victim by shooting her with a shotgun. The victim was in fear for her life.

The deputies detained Bobo and since she was on probation for previously threatening someone, they conducted a probation search of her residence. During the search, the deputies found a sawed-off shotgun in her residence. The victim confirmed a shotgun was the weapon that Bobo threatened to kill her with.

Bobo was arrested for possession of a sawed off shotgun, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation. A South Los Angeles Sheriff's Detective conducted a follow-up investigation and ultimately presented the case to the District Attorney's Office for filing consideration. The District Attorney filed felony charges against, Bobo.

Lieutenant John Hocking indicated, "The deputies did an outstanding job. If they would not have intervened when they did, someone could have been killed."
