City of Lomita Mayor Margaret Estrada retires after thirty-five years of dedicated service.



Captain Blaine Bolin and representatives from Lomita Sheriff Station, along with members of the Lomita City Council congratulated Mayor Margaret Estrada on her retirement Monday November 18, 2013. During her years of service, Estrada served sixteen years on the Lomita City Council with four of those years as Mayor. Estrada served eight years on the Planning Commission, ten years on the Railroad Commission, was a Board Member on the West Basin Water Association, and was honored as the State of California Legislative 53rd District Woman of the Year (2005). Additionally, Estrada has served as a President and volunteer for the Lomita-Torrance Meals on Wheels for several years and is a former President of the Lomita Sister City Association. Lomita Sheriff Station thanks Margaret Estrada for her untiring dedication to the City of Lomita.
