Information Detail
On Sunday morning, November 17, 2013 the Catholic Chaplains conducted a special service for the female inmates at Century Regional Detention Facility. The chaplains brought the (Virgen de Guadalupe Peregrina) Traveling Portrait to the jail facility for a special Mass where over 400 female inmates participated. This traveling portrait was blessed by Pope John Paul II in Mexico and represents hope to all people and especially to the ones who are not able to see the original which is located in the Villa, main church in Mexico City.
This visit is part of the image pilgrimage throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles heading to the December 1, 2013 procession in East Los Angeles. For more information please visit: archla.org/guadalupe
