Below is a list of ideas that you can follow to protect your vehicle and home from being burglarized.
Make sure your vehicle is locked and secured at all times.
Never leave items in your vehicle, especially in plain view.
Park your vehicle in a well-lighted area.
Always lock your residence windows and doors prior to leaving.
Install motion lights around your property (lighting is the number one deterrent for burglars).
Be a good neighbor and observer; report all suspicious activity with trespassers, no matter how insignificant it might seem. Be aware of suspicious vehicles and persons Take note of vehicle descriptions and license plates.
Have someone check on your residence while you're away.
Don't let newspapers or mails accumulate.
If you leave your lights on while you're gone, use timers.
Talk to your police about any problems in your neighborhood.
