In recognition of his heroic actions on October 24, 2013, when he responded to a call of an 8-month old infant not breathing. Upon his arrival, he found the frantic mother holding her seemingly lifeless baby in her arms and crying helplessly. The infant was a deep purple color. Deputy Mammolite performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the infant and within minutes, her color changed and she began to breathe. His actions saved the infant's life and likely prevented long-term brain damage. For his efforts, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department presented him with the Lifesaving Award.
The award was presented to Deputy Mammolite at East Los Angeles Station by Captain Biagini.
