Reserve Deputies enjoy the challenge, camaraderie and excitement offered by law enforcement while providing a worthwhile volunteer community service. Reserve Deputies are issued a badge, ID card, uniforms, a duty weapon, handcuffs, baton and other necessary equipment. Reserve Deputies have full peace officer powers when on duty, and if issued a state CCW permit, may choose to carry a concealed weapon when off duty. Reserve Deputies volunteer 20 hours per month with regular compensation of one dollar per year. Reserve Deputies may qualify for shooting bonus pay monthly, and some paid special event assignments are also available.
