On Friday August 25, 2017, at 10:45 am, Walnut Station deputies stopped a green Honda Accord for a traffic violation at Batson Avenue and Colima Road. The driver, Marco Rivas, a 25 year old from Rowland Heights, had never had a driver's license issued to him so his vehicle was towed for the violation. Prior to the vehicle being towed, the deputies inventoried the vehicle and found a Samsonite bag containing numerous pieces of jewelry and two jewelry boxes with Asian writing on them. There were also smaller bags containing watches, electronics and credit cards in other people's names. They also found a bag containing burglary type tools. The suspect was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of Burglary Tools. The suspect eventually confessed to stealing the items while working as a housekeeper.
